The Claw is a super compact but capable tool that I originally developed as a skeletonised handle neck knife. However when fitted with handle scales this makes a very capable tool for small game preparation, wood carving and general utility tasks. This one is handled in some absolutely stunning stabilised Ancient Kauri wood, Ancient Kauri wood is a very special wood also know as swamp Kauri. This timber is prehistoric Kauri trees (Agathis australis), buried and preserved in peat up to 50,000 years ago in New Zealand’s North Island. Buried under a swamp by an unexplained act of nature at the end of the last Ice Age, the trees have survived the centuries, sealed in a chemically balanced environment that has preserved the timber in almost perfect condition. This particular piece is carbon dated to be 30,000 to 50,000 years old. I have then stabilised it to make sure it’s going to stand the test of time. All in all a rather unique and special blade this one!

The blade is stunning Damasteel DS93X stainless Damascus making for a nice easy to care for but very pretty tool!

These Kiridashis are based on the traditional Japanese design that was commonly used as an all round utility knife as well as for layout in fine woodwork and other crafts. I have developed this design to be more user friendly and suited to everyday utility tasks.

This variant has a secondary bevel on the single grind for a more resilient edge. I also do kiridashis with the traditional zero grind for finer craft work upon request.

This model is Wilder Ways take on the classic Bird and Trout design. A very light and nimble blade with a certain elegance that makes them a joy to use and carry!

The handle is still a full length handle so locks well when gripped, but narrower in height and width which aids its swift feel in the hand. The term ‘a knife should feel like an extension of your arm’ truly shows through with this design.

This model is Wilder Ways take on the classic Bird and Trout design. A very light and nimble blade with a certain elegance that makes them a joy to use and carry!

The handle is still a full length handle so locks well when gripped, but narrower in height and width which aids its swift feel in the hand. The term ‘a knife should feel like an extension of your arm’ truly shows through with this design.

This is the Bird and Trout Drop Point, ideal for most skinning and game prep as well as general everyday tasks! A straight spined version is also available if preferred.

This one in particular has a stonewashed finish on a full flat ground blade with a secondary bevel.

The handle is some stunning stabilised Box Elder Burl set off by blue G10 liners for some added contrast.
